Tech Jobs in the Future?

Technology is evolving, become better, and so are jobs related to Technology, things like “matchmakers” have been replaced with dating websites (which I don’t support, at all) Travel agents are not as common, you can order tickets online, book hotels online, book tours online, find attractions online (THANK YOU INTERNET), people no longer get typists for example to write magazines, everything is done on the computer, things like CD shops are also not as popular because Apple decided to make a little thing called iTunes, and Sean Parker decided to make Spotify, but unfortunately piracy is done online instead of shops that sell illegal CDs, both suck, but a pirated movie is more likely to be downloaded online than bought illegally at a store.

Tech Jobs? well, I’m no expert on life and jobs and things, but I think for gaming, a lot of companies will try making mobile consoles that can be carried around easily and played anywhere. There are products that make playing Xbox or PS3 possible while not at home, but I think consoles as a whole will be lighter and portable. I also think a lot of programmers will be making websites to either pirate / buy games, there are rumors that the next gen Xbox wont have an optical drive, so pirates will see this as a way to provide free games to everyone, or sell them at a much lower price than the developers. For laptops, (this might sound stupid) but I think companies will make laptops that have a screen you can take out of the case and use as a tablet, developers are already making those kinds of things, but the screens can’t be removed, I see touch-enabled laptops evolving too, which sucks. But the whole idea of a transformer laptop is pretty cool, turning into Android or iOS when taken out of the case, and being a normal screen when it’s put in, I don’t think it will be like the cases available for the iPad, those suck. If people even make this, I would like if people wouldn’t know the screen can turn into a tablet, I would like the thing to run like a laptop. I think programming will be a common job, the internet will somewhat replace the bank, with websites like Kickstarter, funding can be made online to very creative people with awesome projects, when I first saw the things people are doing on Kickstarter, I was amazed! FAITH IN HUMANITY RESTORED.

How Much Time Do I Spend Online?

I will not lie to you, I am a very techy person, and I spend a lot of time online, I normally spend MORE than 3 hours online between gaming, YouTube, Facebook ( a bit ) and pretty much every other website I want to visit. For gaming, I pretty much play it a lot because it’s so fun, and a good time-waster, but for Youtube and other video-sharing websites, I go there for entertainment and I also learn things, unlike it’s rivals, Youtube has BILLIONS of videos, I learn everything from the internet and it is awesome. I don’t really spend a lot of time texting, or even using my phone, but every month I use about a JD (around 1.50$ for you Americans) for calling and stuff.

Does it affect my grades? Well, yes, in a good way. Facebook is a social network, so basically a lot of my classmates are on it, if I need help, they’ll probably help me, but I do procrastinate more while I’m on the internet. My parents definitely don’t like it when  spend a lot of time on the internet, and I try to spend less time on the internet, but that doesn’t always work, and while I’m on the subject of homework, I realize that I tend to switch between doing my homework and going online and playing games, because when I do my homework all at once, it’s less fun, more work, and my brain just shuts off, when I play games, it’s sort of like a mini-break and when I get back to doing my homework, I don’t feel as bored as I would have if I did it all at once.

Adventure Jordan Expectations

Every year, we have a trip to go somewhere in Jordan, this year we have two (yay!) And this time, we are going to Azraq, and my teacher asked me three questions about it:

1. Do you know anything about it?

2. What do you want to know about it?

3. Are you excited?

To answer the first question, no. (shocker) but do I want to know anything about it? Well yeah, since I don’t know anything about it. Am I excited? Yes! I think he most enjoyable thing about these kinds of trips is not the information being shoved into your brain, not the long walk, not the uncomfortable sleep, it’s the cool friends that come with you (true story) and that is what’s exciting, I think it will be cool spending a couple of days with my friends, my teachers are going to be so annoyed because of me (Y U MAD BRO?), so basically, we’re going on a trip and I want to learn and chill with friends, sorry for the boring blog-post though, my teacher asked for it.

So, tell me what you know about Azraq!

Google Docs & Presentations — What did I think?

Hey guys! I’m back! And I wanted to briefly talk about Google Docs and Presentations, to start off, I think Google Docs is great!  It reminds me of Microsoft Word — in some ways, one BIG (yes, capital BIG) advantage is that it’s part of your Gmail account, so you can access it wherever you go, for people that have desktops, this is good news, and plus, it’s FREE! People like free stuff.  I think Google is a great company, I will probably have a random Apple fan-boy in the comments saying “Google sucks!” well bro, you are wrong!  I’m not an Android fan-boy but  I personally think Google phones are better than the Apple iPhone, but that’s something else, Google Presentations remind me of PowerPoint, but again, its for FREE! And it can be shared online, can be accessed wherever you are and all that good stuff, it’s also very useful for school, even my teacher chose it over PowerPoint for our wishlist project (which I will be sharing later in this post.

But to be honest, it isn’t perfect, Microsoft Word can be better if you’re thinking of writing a 2,000 word essay, or writing a college acceptance essay.  As much as I would love to go on about it’s features and other stuff like that, I’m going to talk about my wishlist project, so basically, my teacher asked us what we would buy with 9,000 dollars, we were limited to buying 6-10 items, so that was hard, kind of, as you might know already, I DJ, so I bought some DJing goodies, I also really like photography, so I bought a 5D Mark II (Mark III is out now :D) and a couple of other stuff, if you want to check it out, click here.  That’s it for now, If you have any suggestions, please write it in the comment section below, and, yeah, I’ll see you later.

What Are Your Predictions For Technology In Schools In Next 5-10 Years?

My teacher asks too many questions…  But anyway, I think schools in the next couple of  years will require students to get laptops to school, my school is already doing that, but I also predict a lot of iPad like devices (yes, with Flash Player) being used in classrooms, but for tech in general, I think there will be more Siri-like applications, and touch displays.  I think schools are just trying to make work easier for students, sometimes the old pen or pencil can become a pain if used for long, I do support the movement to laptops for education and I don’t see anything wrong with it, “but what if they go on websites like Facebook?” well, some places, like my school, have Cyberoam, what it basically does is every student logs in with their own username, and as long as they are on the internet the school can monitor their activity.

Now, I don’t think iPad-like devices are suitable for school, and I just think laptops are better, and for the iPad, being the small device that it is, may get damaged from being carried all around the school (unless you keep it in your locker or something) and I also don’t support the movement to Speak and Spell, I think it’s just being lazy, and in a more noisy environment the Speak and Spell may not get what you’re saying, I only support those kinds of applications for a phone and not as a substitute for keyboards.

Thanks for listening to what I had to say, please like and comment what you’d like to see next, follow if you like what you’re seeing so far. PEACE!

Lea & Jay

A Nutella, Double Chocolate & Banana Tart for the Annual World Nutella Day. Be still my heart! Has there ever been a happier, more delicious convergence of ingredients? I think not, though perhaps adding a little peanut butter into the mix would have made it even more enticing… if that is possible. That’s right, today February 5th is World Nutella Day. This celebration of all things Nutella was started in 2007 by Sara at Ms. Adventures in Italy and Michelle at Bleeding Espresso as a day to celebrate, get creative with and most importantly, to EAT Nutella.

I absolutely love Nutella. Just spreading it on toast is a joy, not to mention just eating it straight out of the jar. Yup, I might do that from time to time. I participated in World Nutella Day last year with my Nutella & Banana filled Peanut Butter Ebelskivers. ( See..I got…

Should Mobile Phones Be Allowed In School?

A couple of days ago, my wonderful teacher (yeah, Mr. Nadjib, this means extra credit) asked me this question ” Should Mobile Phone Be Allowed In School For Students? Why or Why Not?” and I would vote for yes, and it’s not just because I’m a middle-schooler, it’s because mobile phones can really help when there are emergencies, or just small problems, you can call your dad to come pick you up after practice instead of sitting there waiting for someone to help you or call your sister to see why she’s taking so long to come to the bus/car or whatever.  So phones really help you when you need them, but that’s not it, in specific classes like Writing, or Language Arts, plugging some headphones into your phone really helps you get away from what’s around you and just focus on what you’re writing.

But you might ask ” but Tech Troll, how often does this happen to people?” the answer is, my fellow trollers, a lot.  I sometimes walk home from school, and whenever I have an after-school activity, I call my sister to tell her that she can go without me, instead of her looking around the school a hundred times.  You would expect me to stop typing at this point, but NO!  There’s more than that, as my teacher reviewed ( if you want the link ask in the comments?  ) there are some educational apps on the app store for the iPhone and Android, the app InClass (atleast that’s what I think it’s called) is a very good educational app, it gives you alerts a couple of hours/days/weeks prior to when a specific assingment is due.  So yeah, that’s pretty much it!

Thanks for taking time out of your day and reading what I had to say (or type), please give suggestions to what I should write about next time, follow if you like what your seeing so far and, Yeah!

So do you guys think mobile phones should be allowed for student use in school?

New Ferrari F1?

F1 cars are like the DSLRs of cameras, they’re so precious you don’t carry them around everywhere you go, partly because it’s illegal, but you get my point, they are superior to the rest.  But anyway, i wanted to cover the release of the new F1 car from Ferrari, honestly, It doesn’t look so different, I guess they were so pleased with the aerodynamics of the old one that they didn’t bother changing the style that much, but then comes the nose which looks darn ugly!  It has a narrower rear, thanks to that smaller gearbox!

The new Ferri won’t be running any time soon, as Fiorano is practically buried under snow.  Speaking of, next week is the first F1 test of the season, so that’s gonna be interesting.  This year’s Ferri is 7 cm lower ( from the nose, anyway ) they must be following this lower nose aero-concept, interesting, kind of.  Ferrari has big hopes for this, so hopefully this season turns out better than the last, which also went kind of well. Yeah..

thanks for checking this post out, for the pics of this new F1 car, click here. if you have any suggestions please put them in the comments below.  Thanks!
